Fred Wright wins first British Nationwide Highway Championship


Fred Wright (Bahrain Victorious) received the British street race nationwide title on Sunday with an all-out assault within the closing kilometres forward of two breakaway companions. James Knox (Soudal-QuickStep) secured second place falling wanting the catch by 9 seconds. Stephen Williams (Israel-Premier Tech) completed third, one other 10 seconds again at Saltburn-by-the-Sea. 

The three riders acquired away from a breakaway of six on the eighth of 10 laps. Then Williams acquired out of the saddle for an assault with below 4km to race, however Wright then made his go instantly dropping the duo.
